Rune Factory 4, the last installment from now defunct developer Neverland Co., won’t be getting a European release, a spokesperson for publisher MarvelousAQL confirmed with Eurogamer.
“We regret to inform you that the European release of Rune Factory 4 for Nintendo 3DS has been cancelled,” reads the statement issued to Eurogamer. “While MarvelousAQL has made every effort to secure the title’s release for this territory, it is, unfortunately, not possible to do so at this time.”
According to Eurogamer, MarvelsAQL declined to comment further about Rune Factory 4’s cancellation in Europe. It is believed, however, that developer Neverland Co.’s closure in November 2013 following bankruptcy may be a factor.
Rune Factory 4, the sixth installment in the RPG/simulation series, managed to make it to North America October last year. There’s been no word as to whether the franchise will continue without Neverland. For more on Rune Factory 4, check out Eric’s review.
