Mass Effect 3 Art Book Pre-Orders Get In-Game DLC

THE BUZZ: EA and Dark Horse are offering free in-game DLC to fans who pre-order the upcoming Mass Effect hardback art book.
Following a similar move to the DLC offered with Mass Effect 3 figures, Dark Horse has revealed that those who pre-order “The Art of the Mass Effect Universe” before February 20 will receive bonus DLC for use in Mass Effect 3′s multiplayer, including character boosts and a Collector Assault Rifle. The content is currently only available for Xbox 360 and PC versions of the game, and the book will set you back $39.99.
EGM’s TAKE: EA is really pushing the marketing campaign for Mass Effect 3, with two separate ways to use the game’s expanded universe to get free bonus content. The art book alone is worth the $40, as previous concept art has shown, however a chance to get some bonus goodies is a fantastic extra. It stands a good chance that both the figure and book DLC will be available to purchase at some point after the game’s launch, so you could always wait and see. For fans of the Mass Effect universe these items will be must haves, even without the DLC. For the rest of you it depends on how badly you want the in-game items.
Will you purchase either for the free DLC? Leave a comment below.
