THE BUZZ: A Mass Effect 3 facebook app has been launched that can net you free Xbox 360 Avatar items and early access to the game’s demo.

To begin simply access the Mass Effect 3 Mission Command app, and if enough people take part you will automatically receive a free Normandy prop for your Xbox 360 avatar. The current mission is simply to share the page with friends, however once mission two goes live in a few days you can gain early access to the Mass Effect 3 demo set to release February 14.

“Carry out missions to unlock Xbox Live Avatar items, DLC and Mass Effect 3 gear. Your decisions determine the rewards!”

A total of 11 missions are planned for the app leading up to the game’s release, and everyone who downloads the demo will receive a free t-shirt for their avatar.

EGM’s TAKE: Mission Command is a nice way to get your Mass Effect fix before the game’s release and get some cool prizes along the way. The early demo access is the number one reason for accessing this app and taking the time to complete each mission, however the prizes and demo access will only be for Xbox 360. You’ve got nothing to lose except for the five minutes of your time that it will take to complete each mission, so keep your eyes peeled for future objectives.
