THE BUZZ: Jennifer Hale, the voice actress for Mass Effect 3’s female Commander Shepherd, hasn’t been contacted about recording new content for the game’s ending.
Hale revealed that she was surprised by the controversy surrounding the ending, but was happy to see people being passionate about the game.
“I was surprised about the level of passion about the ending,” she said. “But there’s something really great about that, too: It says people are invested and they really care and they don’t want to let go, which is awesome because I don’t, either.”
“I have mixed feelings about [the prospect of a new ending],” she revealed. “I really respect the team and what they did and how hard they worked. And endings are hard! They’re cutting new ground; the players are so involved in this game that to come up with an ending to something everyone’s got their hand in is a huge challenge.”
EGM’s TAKE: It appears that Hale is happy with how the game ended, but she is also more than happy to record new content and give the fans what they really want. She’s right when she says that it’s hard to end a trilogy, so many people expect so many different outcomes that it becomes impossible to please them all. What happens if they redo the ending and it’s hated again? Will they simply give fans another and another until everyone is finally all happy?
