THE BUZZ: According to information released by NPD, Mass Effect 3 sold 1.3 million physical units during its launch month—and you’ll never guess which platform was far and away the winner in terms of sales. (Okay, maybe you can guess.)

EGM’s TAKE: Now, of course, keep in mind—this doesn’t take into account digital sales of the game via Origin, PlayStation Network, or whatever else. So, actual sales for the game are no doubt a decent amount higher when taking those numbers into consideration.

Also interesting is that Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg noted that—of those 1.3 million copies—the Xbox 360 version of Mass Effect 3 sold 943,000 copies. That’s some loyalty to the Xbox 360 version of the game—and it puts it at a rate of 4:1 copies sold over the PS3 version. Not surprising though, as many of us started the series on the Xbox 360, and wanted to stick with our Commander Shepards throughout the trilogy.
