Mass Effect Trilogy Pack Announced, Not All DLC Included For Everyone

Even though BioWare’s upcoming Mass Effect Trilogy collection will include all three major games in the series, players won’t be getting the full range of content from each title. That’s a bit odd.

Then again, at a $59.99 price tag, it’s probably not terribly surprising.

BioWare detailed the contents of the triple-game release, which has a different selection of available DLC per console version. At the worst, that means you’ll be missing some key single-player narrative unless you know what to look for. Here’s a breakdown of the full list, from the developers’ official product profile:

  • Mass Effect Trilogy (PC) — Bring Down the Sky, Pinnacle Station (on-disk), Mass Effect 2 Cerberus Network, Zaeed – The Price of Revenge, Firewalker Pack, Cerberus Assault Gear, Arc Projector heavy weapon, Normandy Crash Site, and Mass Effect 3 Online Pass
  • Mass Effect Trilogy (Xbox 360) — Mass Effect 2 Cerberus Network and Mass Effect 3 Online Pass

That’s quite a bit of content that PC players get over Xbox 360 users, although it both versions are missing valuable DLC content like the “Lair of the Shadow Broker” and “From Ashes” missions.

At the very least, multiplayers access is included with each version, and most likely will be for the PlayStation 3 release. Still, one would think that people would be more likely to buy a more expensive collection with more DLC, but alas.
