Call it coincidence if you wish, but the conspiracy theorists out there are going to have a field day with this one. Blizzard has announced that patch 5.0.4 for World of Warcraft will go live on the same day that Guild Wars 2 launches.

Patch 5.0.4 will go live on August 28, which Guild Wars 2 fans will know is the same day that the highly anticipated MMO is scheduled to officially launch. The patch is a pre-expansion update to prepare for Mists of Pandaria and weighs in at six gigabytes. It includes shared mounts, new pets, and the new talent system.

The patch will go live August 28 on the North American servers and August 29 for Europeans. Is it just a coincidence?
