Master Chief, perhaps the biggest face of Microsoft’s games, is making an appearance on the Nintendo Switch.
No, the Switch won’t be getting Halo games. It will, though, be getting access to a Halo-themed Minecraft DLC pack.
Xbox players have already had access to this DLC pack for a few years. It was one of the first skin packs to arrive in the console version of Minecraft, so many players will be familiar with the blocky appearance of Master Chief. Dubbed Skin Pack 1, the DLC also includes a few favorite appearances from the Fable series, letting players dress up as kings, queens, wizards, and heroes. This DLC will be releasing on both the Nintendo Switch and Wii editions of the game today, making it playable on all consoles that support the Better Together cross-play update.
Additionally, an all-new Moana character pack, based on the hit Disney movie, arrives in all versions of the game today, giving players access to skins based on Moana, Maui, and even the gold-encrusted, super-shiny crab Tamatoa.
The Update Aquatic, the next major update heading to Minecraft, still isn’t out, but according to the update posted to the Minecraft site, it’s only “a little way off.”
