Max Payne 3 Multiplayer to Contain Elements of Story

THE BUZZ: Dan Houser, Rockstar boss and Max Payne 3 writer, has revealed that Max Payne 3 will include elements of story in its multiplayer modes.

“We wanted to put some elements of single player into the multiplayer so the multiplayer will have a lot more detail and have elements of story in it and have a sort of an immersive quality,” Houser told Variety. ”We think that’s something that is underexplored in multiplayer.”

This is the first game in the series to include multiplayer, which has led a few fans to become agitated and worried about the game’s single-player suffering.

EGM’s TAKE: Rockstar is going to have approach multiplayer in Max Payne carefully, without sacrificing the game’s single-player, if it wants to win fans over. Adding story elements is an interesting approach that could pay off big.
