“The Submachine Gun (SMG) class of weapons in Max Payne 3 combines the rapid-fire rate of a much bulkier machinegun with the versatility and punch of a handgun,” says the developer. “SMGs are ideal for clearing rooms quickly at close-quarters. Also, thanks to the lightweight structure of certain SMGs, users can double the damage by dual-wielding one in each hand and still maintain fluid maneuverability as they go.”
EGM’s TAKE: If you’re after devastating fire power in close quarters then look no further than the dual SMGs. These powerful weapons can rip through a room full of enemies within seconds, however they are pretty useless when it comes to longer range targets, due to a lack of sight targeting and bullet spray. Max Payne 3 has a damn impressive range of weapons for players to go mental with, and we can’t wait to test them out.
