Max Payne iOS Launching This Week

THE BUZZ: Rockstar’s port of the oringal Max Payne to mobile platforms will launch this week on iOS devices.

Max Payne Mobile launches for iOS devices on April 12, with an Android version coming April 26. The game will be compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod Touch 4, iPad 1, iPad 2 and the new iPad. Rockstar didn’t mention a price.

EGM’s TAKE: Many deem the original Max Payne as the best between the two original games, so it’s no wonder that Rockstar chose that one to port. The game will probably produce average sales as it’s a straight port, if they had created a whole new experience for mobiles then there would have been a lot more excitement. However, it will give players a chance to see Max’s roots before they dive into May Payne 3.
