Medal of Honor Taken ‘Out of Rotation’ Following Poor Performance
Posted on January 31, 2013 AT 03:16am

EA announced during its third quarter financial call that due to poor performance Medal of Honor has been taken “out of rotation.”
The publisher has decided not to continue the series following poor sales. “The game was solid, but the focus on combat authenticity did not resonate with consumers,” said EA COO Peter Moore. “Critics were polarized and gave the game scores which were frankly lower than deserved. This one is behind us now. We are taking Medal of Honor out of rotation and have to bring year-over-year continuity to our shooter offerings.”
“We’re in a hit-driven business where it’s about what you can build in a certain period of time and really deliver for the marketplace, and frankly we missed on Medal of Honor. And we take responsibility for that,” added EA labels president Frank Gibeau.
This isn’t exactly a surprise when you consider the lukewarm reception that Medal of Honor: Warfighter received. I don’t see too many gamers losing sleep over this announcement.
