Publisher NIS America has released a new, English-dubbed trailer of the Japanese version of Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness that introduces the game’s eccentric cast of characters.

“I am not an idiot,” Barbara says in the video. “My name is Barbara.”

Of course you aren’t, Barbara. Women in JRPGs never are.

A Brighter Darkness is a direct sequel to the Disgaea game that started it all, Hour of Darkness. Laharl returns as the primary protagonist, joined by fan favorites Etna and Flonne as well as his sister (question mark), Sicility (not to be confused with his sister Maharl from the Disgaea anime).

Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness lights up PlayStation 3s October 8 in North America, September 27 in Europe.
