Mega Ran Announces Mega Man 25th Anniversary Tribute CD Re-Release
Posted on June 12, 2012 AT 12:10pm
Mega Man sure has fallen on some hard times lately. Mega Man Legends 3 got canceled, Zero took his spot in Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and former Capcom producer Keiji Infune’s no longer in control of the franchise.
But! It’s still the 25th anniversary of the Blue Bomber, and the Capcom community won’t forget, even if Capcom themselves have. One particular Mega Man fan who’s pulling out all the stops is freestyle MC and video game rapper Raheem Jarbo, better known as Mega Ran.
Breaking the news on his website, Mega Ran has confirmed that in dedication to Capcom’s (former?) mascot, he’s re-releasing his first Mega Man tribute rap album in its own 5th anniversary edition. Although the album will technically miss the official June 17th anniversary mark (it debuts on July 12th, same day that Comic-Con 2012 starts), you can pre-order a print of it right over here.
If you’ve never heard of Mega Ran before, now’s as good a time as any to catch up. Here’s a great track from “Mega Ran 9″, themed after the best Mega Man boss in years.
