Mel Gibson’s Brother Interested in Voicing Max in Avalanche’s Mad Max Game

Posted on July 25, 2013 AT 01:35pm

Mel Gibson’s brother Donal has expressed interest in voicing Max Rockatansky in Avalanche Studios’ upcoming Mad Max game.

Jamie Blanks, director of the 1998 cult-hit slasher film Urban Legend (featuring Tara Reid) contacted Australian game coverage outlet AusGamer yesterday and suggested the lesser known Gibson take over for Mel, who portrayed the titular character in the original Mad Max films. Blanks also provided a voice-cover demo of Donal playing Max, which AusGamers uploaded.

Donal Gibson’s previous voice-acting efforts include Captain John Smith from Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World, Captain Boomerang in Justice League Unlimited, and Ray Tracer in ReBoot.

Mad Max is set to launch PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS3, and Xbox 360 sometime 2014.
