Metal Gear 25th Anniversary Announcement Will ‘Shock’ The Gaming Industry

Kojima Productions is apparently going to flip the gaming industry on its collective head come August 30th, when the production company finally reveals the Fox Engine. According to one employee, it’s going to change everything.
On the latest episode of the Kojima Productions Report podcast, employee Ken Mendoza cryptically said that the company’s August 30th event would ‘shock’ the entire gaming world.
Fellow employee Christopher Johns added in his two cents, saying that there were “a lot of things to look forward to next week,” in addition to the reveal of the company’s new Fox Engine.
Curious, very curious.
Next week’s Metal Gear 25th anniversary event will be held at Tokyo Midtown, a mixed-use $3 billion complex for housing, corporate offices, and public entertainment. It’s currently the headquarters for high-profile companies like Fujifilm and Yahoo Japan, as well as the host to Japan’s fifth tallest building in the country.
Is the announcement going to be a ground-breaking tech demo, or will it be paired with news about Metal Gear Solid 5?
