THE BUZZ: Following the first image of the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection on Vita, Hideo Kojima has posted a few more today along with details on how the handheld’s rear touch panel will be utilized.
According to Kojima players will be able to ”slice enemy’s throat with knife if you flick the rear touch pad.” The ability to control the camera will also be introduced: ”If you pinch out left and right on rear touch panel with first-person camera, you can stretch up yourself,” he added.
EGM’s TAKE: Kojima appears to making full use of the Vita rear touch panel, probably the most interesting addition to handhelds since the front touch screen was introduced. Many developers are taking advantage of this new feature in a whole host of different ways, which can only be good for originality and new gameplay ideas. Now that I know I can take down an enemy with a sweep of the back panel I’m all over the HD Collection on Vita.
Are these new features worthwhile or gimmicky? Leave your thoughts below.
