Metro: Last Light Delayed Until 2013

Posted on February 3, 2012 AT 06:45am

THE BUZZ: THQ has announced that 4A Games’ Metro: Last Light has been pushed back to 2013.

The publishers latest release schedule has the game pinned for a Q1 2013 release (January 1 – March 31), which is a delay from the original Q4 2012 date given last year.

EGM’s TAKE: Metro 2033 failed to make the major impact expected, which is why it was a surprise when THQ announced a sequel. Obviously the team at 4A Games have been given more time to get the game up to scratch in order to properly compete in the crowded FPS market. Only the strongest survive in this heavily saturated genre, with most games fighting over the scraps left behind by powerhouses like Battlefield and Call of Duty. Can Metro step up and claim that third place?
