Deep Silver has released a new trailer for the upcoming next-gen remasters of Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light that compares the games to their original releases.
Both games are being re-released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC under the new “Redux” title. Both will run and a “rock solid” 60 frames per second, with the PlayStation 4 versions being rendered at 1080p and the Xbox One versions at 900p.
The Redux version of Metro 2033 has been rebuilt using Last Light‘s engine, and features a day and night cycle, the ability to wipe your character’s mask clean, higher levels of detail, and redone cinematic. The Redux version of Last Light is also getting a graphical upgrade, along with two fan-requested features: the ability to check their watch and inventory.
In both titles players will have the option of two game modes: Survival or Spartan. Survival is based on Metro 2033‘s play style with limited supplies and ammo and tougher AI, while Spartan offers faster-paced action with more resources more akin to Last Light. All DLC released for both games will be included in the Redux editions, as well as Ranger Mode, which removes the HUD and increases difficulty.
Metro 2033 Redux and Metro: Last Light Redux will be available to purchase digitally for $24.99 each on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One from August 26 in North America and August 29 in Europe, or as the Metro Redux pack at retail for $49.99 on the same dates.
