Microsoft confirmed that it has officially removed the fee charged to developers to update their Xbox Live Arcade titles, following a rumor yesterday.

Xbox Live’s director of programming, Larry Hryb confirmed that the change occurred in April, however he failed to mention if the cost for full retail games had also been removed.

The original system saw XBLA developers offered one free update following certification, but were then charged thousands of dollars for each subsequent update.
