Microsoft Details Updated Xbox Rewards Program

Posted on September 6, 2013 AT 03:50am

Microsoft has updated its Xbox Live Rewards program following the phasing out of Microsoft Points in favor of local currency.

Users will still be rewarded for making purchases, renewing their subscription, and partaking in questionnaires and other contests just as before, but now credits will be handed out upon completion of these actions instead of Microsoft Points.

Once a player earns 5,000 credits they will be converted into local currency and deposited in their Xbox Live account. According to Joystiq, the exchange rate is $5 for 5,000 credits.
