Microsoft Hiring for Next-Gen Kinect

Is waving your hand in front of screen not futuristic enough for you? Well Microsoft has gone on a major recruitment drive for its next-generation of Natural User Interface (NUI) technologies, otherwise known as Kinect, maybe that will provide the tech buzz you’re looking for.
A job advert for a software development engineer asks, “Do you want to work on the future of Natural User Input as a member of the team that *shipped* Kinect for the Xbox 360?”
“The Xbox Platform Team is gearing up towards the next generation of Natural User Interface (NUI) technologies. We are the convergence zone of MSR, Incubation, Game Developers and the Xbox Platform, providing the building blocks for exciting new NUI experiences,” it adds.
Microsoft’s research lab in Haifa, Israel, is also after a senior electronic engineer to help with NUI development. “If you are passionate for electronic design of 3D imaging cameras which will serve millions throughout the world, we are offering a unique and great opportunity for talented people, to help us build and ensure our products meets the highest standards,” the advert reads.
It appears that Kinect was just a teaser for what Microsoft is truly capable of as the advert for a software development engineer reads, “The world has watched us ship some incredible products…the best is yet to come!”
I don’t care what Microsoft does with the next-generation of Kinect as long as it releases an updated version of Kinectimals for it, that would make me a very happy gamer.
What would you like to see added or changed with the next-generation of Kinect hardware? Let us know in the comments below.
