Microsoft has ordered a website to remove the leaked Xbox 720 document, inadvertently adding credibility to its contents in the process.

In a takedown notice sent to Czech Republic technology site Ihned.cz, Microsoft claimed ownership of the document, referring to it as an “IEB Roadmap.” IEB stands for Interactive Entertainment Business, the Microsoft division responsible for Xbox.

Ihned.cz received the warning from Microsoft on Monday after running a story on the leak. This comes after law firm Covington & Birling LLP asked Scribd, the website that leaked the document, to remove it from its servers. Covington & Birling lists Microsoft as a client.

The 56-page document mentions Xbox SmartGlass, Blu-ray support, 3D glasses, cloud-based gaming, improved Kinect functionality and a $299 price tag.

The fact that Microsoft is bothering to get the document removed could point to at least some of its contents being true. However, bear in mind that it was written back in August 2010 so a lot of the details may no longer be relevant or accurate.
