Several Xbox One users have been complaining about the lack of demos available for Microsoft’s next-gen console, but Microsoft’s Larry Hryb has now said that more demos are on the way.
“It is (and always has been) up to game developers to do demos for their own games,” Hryb said in a comment on his blog. “[There’ll] be more demos for Xbox One as the platform goes forward.”
At one point Microsoft made it a requirement for all downloadable titles to include a free game trial. However, with the release of Xbox One this is no longer the case. “Not all [digital] games will have demos like Xbox Live Arcade games have had on Xbox 360,” Xbox Live exec Marc Whitten said back in September.
“That said, we are going to work on lots of ways to make it easy for you to find and try new games on the service.”
The Xbox One launched November 22 in 13 markets, and sold more than one million units in its first 24 hours.
