THE BUZZ: As part of the recent flood of major gaming releases, next week will see the release of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary.

Starting at 10pm local time on Monday, November 14th, Halo fans will be able to participated in special team deathmatch games while “fueled with free Monster Energy drinks, pizza and friendly competition.” By participating in these tournaments, players will have the chance to win a limited-edition Halo: Anniversary Xbox 360 console skin, along with “other special prizes”.

The first 100 fans to show up at each store will receive special Halo-related items, such as posters and “Red or Blue team identifier(s)”. As well, the first 100 people to buy Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary will receive a limited-edition Grunt plushie, and any customers who pre-orders the game at Microsoft Stores will also receive a $25 gift card toward future purchases.

EGM’s TAKE: In all seriousness—I didn’t even know Microsoft Stores were a thing that actually existed. But hey, cool to see Microsoft using their retail spaces for events like this.

Any of you going to try to attend one of these events (or do you wish you could)? Let us know in the comments!
