Update: EA has announced that Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare will be coming to PC on June 24 in North America and June 27 in Europe. You can check out the announcement trailer at the bottom of the post.
Original Story: Microtransactions are coming to Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare this week, according to Brian Lindley, the game’s producer.
Starting this week, players will have the opportunity to purchase coins from the Sticker Shop—previously the only way to earn coins was via gameplay. These coins can be used to purchase Sticker Packs, which include access to new aesthetic options, characters, and more.
“Starting next week, players will be given the option to purchase coins from the Sticker Shop, which allows players the ability to access new packs and character content more quickly – all the same content that can be earned through regular gameplay,” Lindley explained.
“Now you have the choice to play your way; you can play to get new packs and content via earned coins in the game, or you can purchase coins to get more of the packs and content you want right away.”
Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare is currently available on Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
