THE BUZZ: Nintendo has confirmed that the next 3DS color will be Midnight Purple.

The handheld will be available from May 20, priced at $169.99.

EGM’s TAKE: Once again a new version of the 3DS that offers nothing more than a palette swap. If you already have one you won’t be rushing out to pick up a second regardless of its color. This only really appeals to those who haven’t yet picked one up but actually want one. We’re unsure if purple is enough to convince them to take the plunge.
