Mighty No 9

Well, this is embarrassing.

Microsoft recently released a small update for the Xbox One version of Mighty No. 9, because someone had to do it, gosh darn it.

The update—the kind that’s usually released by, you know, the developer, not the console manufacturer—is supposed to reduce lag and to stabilize the frame-rate in certain levels. The file size for the update is only 39.29 MB.

So, thanks, Xbox?

At the moment, the patch appears to be limited to members of the Xbox Insiders program. Given that program’s history, it’s a safe bet the update will eventually roll out to all Mighty No. 9 owners once these early testers have vetted it.

Now if there was only a way to patch out the four-hour credit sequence.

Mighty No. 9 is available now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, Nintendo Wii U, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Michael Goroff has been gaming for almost three decades. He's a lover of all games and systems, but he mostly plays Xbox. That being said, if he's a fanboy, he's a fanboy for the game industry as a whole. Spit white-hot fanboy hate at him, trash talk his Gold II rank on Rocket League, or maybe just send him a cordial hello on Twitter @gogogoroff.

Mighty No. 9 ran so poorly the Xbox team had to step in and patch it

It wouldn't be a Mighty No. 9 story without something embarrassing happening.
