Miis playable in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS

Reggie will indeed be a playable character in the new Super Smash Bros! So will rapper Ice-T! So will you!

Yep, in the next installment of Nintendo’s popular fighting franchise, you’ll finally be able to bring your Miis into battle, the company announced during their E3 2014 livestream. And according to director Mashahiro Sakurai, they won’t just be a simple addition. Rather than just dropping the character model into the game and calling it a day, you’ll actually have room for a bit of tinkering.

Turns out there will be three different base characters to outfit your Mii: the brawler, the swordfighter, and the gunner, each with a different equipment and strengths. But you’ll also be able to select your four special moves from a set of 12 different options for each character. It’s a definite departure for Smash Bros.—one that comes shockingly close to outright character customization—but it’s easy to imagine the extra depth and fun this might bring to the game.

Plus, I mean, now we can all look forward to playing online against an army of cat-faced people and fake celebrities. Who doesn’t want that?
