Mojang has released a snapshot of update 1.4.6 for Minecraft which will ensure that all players “have fireworks for New Year’s Eve.”

The snapshot includes enchanted books, nether brick slabs, fireworks, and several other items. The update is scheduled to go live at some point before Christmas. You can download the snapshot here.

Mojang also has update 1.5 in the pipeline which is expected to release in January.
