THE BUZZ: Minecraft has finally exited beta and has officially gone Gold, in preparation for its release at the MineCon event in Las Vegas this week.

Markus “Notch” Persson, Studio head at Mojang, announced the news on Twitter saying: “So, yes. Minecraft has gone gold.”

The game recently topped four million sales during its beta period.

EGM’s TAKE: The game going Gold won’t make too much difference to people who have been playing it for months already.
