Mojang has announced that Minecraft: PlayStation 3 Edition will be available to download from the PlayStation Store later this week.
The game will be available from December 17 on the U.S. store and from December 18 on the European store. The PlayStation 3 version includes everything currently available in the Xbox 360 version, according to Mojang’s Owen Hill. “PlayStation 3 Edition comes with everything present in other console versions. They’re pretty-much identical to play, and will be developed in tandem from now on,” he said.
Hill also confirmed that texture packs and skins will be made available to download shortly after the game’s release. Minecraft: PlayStation 4 Edition and Minecraft: PlayStation Vita Edition are also currently in development, but the developer doesn’t have a solid release date for either version.
Minecraft has sold over 30 million copies to date across all platforms.
