Mojang has confirmed that update 1.5 for Minecraft will be coming January 2013 bringing with it several new additions to the game.
Studio lead Jens Bergensten revealed the news at this year’s Minecon, where he announced that update 1.5 will focus on changes to redstone. The changes include adding a variable signal strength to the material and the addition of a brand new capacitor block.
The update will also improve mine carts, add a daylight detector, fireworks, and a new Nether-based ore.
