A new update is rolling out now for the Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and Wii U editions of Minecraft.

According to a blog post, the update adds new achievements/trophies, a new UI engine, llamas, parrots, treasure maps, and the option to change Biomes size to match other platforms. A full list of new features can be found below:

  • 7 new Achievements/Trophies
  • New UI engine (saving significant memory – which should boost performance!)
  • Llamas
  • Parrots
  • Woodland Mansion
  • Treasure Maps
  • Observer Block
  • Totem of Undying
  • Illagers! Vindicator, Vex and Evoker!
  • ‘Bouncy’ Beds
  • Dyeable beds
  • Option to change Biomes size to match other platforms (since they are smaller on console by default)

This update will be followed soon by the Better Together Update. This major update will merge the Xbox, Switch, and Wii U editions of Minecraft under the “Minecraft” title and allows cross-network play between all platforms. The PlayStation versions of Minecraft will not receive this update due to Sony opting out, but the developer promised that these versions will continue to be updated after the Better Together Update lands.
