Mirror’s Edge Sequel ‘On the List,’ EA Says

In the latest issue of Game Informer, EA Labels president Frank Gibeau has hinted that a sequel to 2008 cult hit Mirror’s Edge is still a part of the company’s long term plans.
“We have nothing to announce. We love Faith. We love the property. It’s really about how and when do you bring it back?,” Gibeau explained.
“It’s on the list. It’s just about looking at what teams are available, who’s got the right quality approach to it, and who understands it.”
For the last few years, there have been persistent rumors that a small team at DICE has been hard at work on a sequel to the first-person freerunning game, possibly built in Battlefield 3‘s Frostbite 2 engine.
Given the timing of Gibeau’s remarks and the recent revelation that Frostbite 2 was built with next gen in mind, it’s entirely possible that Mirror’s Edge 2 is destined for the next round of consoles.
