MLB The Show

Like many other online games, MLB The Show 16‘s had a bit of a rocky start due to server overload. The developers are determined to make up for it, though, and have now issued a patch, a public apology, and a slew of goodies for anyone forced to play with the laggy servers.

One of the game modes in particular, Diamond Dynasty, was rendered nearly unplayable due to the game’s need to check in with a server for nearly every action. To thank players for their patience, Sony San Diego will award anyone who tried to play before 1 p.m. PT on April 8th with 10 standard packs of Diamond Dynasty cards for free, as well as 5,000 Stubs ($15 worth of content).

“We apologize that the excitement of launch and the start of the season has been soured by these issues,” a Sony San Diego Studio representative wrote on the game’s forums. “Our team is taking every step necessary and working around the clock to stabilize our online servers as soon as possible.”

Several player complaints, such as the game freezing up during timeouts, have already been addressed in Patch 1.02.

Players who wish to claim their rewards will need to claim their Diamond Dynasty card packs before Tuesday, April 12th. The Stubs should show up automatically.
