Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops Double XP Weekend

THE BUZZ: Activision is kicking off a massive double XP weekend in all Call of Duty titles, including Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops.

The reason is Modern Warfare 3′s new Prestige Shop which allows you to spend tokens you earn from prestiging on rewards. As a bonus for every prestige you obtained on previous Call of Duty games you will recive a token on day one, hence the double XP weekend to allow players to gain as many tokens as possible before Modern Warfare 3′s launch in two weeks time.

EGM’s TAKE: This should get fans buzzing about MW3, and get a nice frenzy building up to the launch. We also bet Activision hopes this takes some of the attention away from this week’s Battlefield 3 launch.
