Modern Warfare 3 – Behind The Scenes Content Season 2012

THE BUZZ: Activision has released a behind the scenes trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, that takes an in-depth look at what’s coming up in their DLC content 2012 season.

The team from Infinity ward, Sledgehammer Games, Raven Software and Beachhead Studios introduce the first two content drops in the form of new mulitplayer maps, Liberation and Piazza, which will be available to Call of Duty: Elite premium subscribers starting January 24, on Xbox Live. Non-subscribers, PlayStation 3 and PC owners will have to wait.

EGM’s TAKE: This is a bold move by the Call of Duty team. Usually we get four or five over-priced map packs for each new iteration, however this time round they have actually took some time out to think about a content plan and how to keep players engaged. Is the threat of Battlefield forcing them to think outside the box? Stands a chance it at least played some part in the decision. Either way, it means more and better content for fans who threw down their hard earned money to play the game. With 20 pieces of content planned over the next nine months you will never be short of new things to enjoy. The only major issue fans will have is the ever growing gap between platform content releases, now with Elite subscribers getting first dibs and then Xbox Live users – PlayStation 3 and PC users are lagging further and further behind.

You can find more information on the content season here.
