Activision has announced the official release date of Content Collection #2 for Modern Warfare 3, which includes three multiplayer maps, two Spec Ops missions and a new game mode.
The new game is called Face-off and will come with four new maps especially built for one-on-one and two-on-two battles. More details about the mode can be found here.
Three multiplayer maps are also included in the collection. Two have already been released via Elite – Sanctuary and Foundation – but one is brand new. The third, titled Oasis, is set on a beach resort in the United Arab Emirates.
Finally two new Spec Ops missions will be added to the game. Ironclad is set immediately after the Hamburg mission from the game’s campaign and sees you and a comrade attempting to make it make to the landing beach after the assault. The second, titled Killswitch, plays out in a Russian dockyard with one player sniping while the other attempts to sneak through to detonate a bomb at the end.
Content Collection #2 will be available on Xbox 360 from May 22, PlayStation 3 and PC players will have to wait until a later date. A nice speedy release from Activision this time round, which should appease fans a little. If the new content had been pumped out this fast originally then there probably wouldn’t have been so much anger.
Are you happy with the tiered content delivery?
