Modern Warfare 3 Content Pack #1 Now Live on PlayStation 3 – Double XP This Weekend

THE BUZZ: Finally, PlayStation 3 non-Elite subscribers can get their hands on some Modern Warfare 3 DLC as Content pack #1 is now available on the PlayStation Store.

The pack includes all of the previously released DLC for the game, including four multiplayer maps and two new Spec Ops missions. It will set you back $14.99.

Activision’s official description of the pack:

“Armed with just this one content pack, players can choose between heading to a militarized Central Park in Liberation, destroying scenic vistas in a seaside Italian getaway in Piazza, raining glass on New York passersby from 70-stories-up in Overwatch, and battling beside a downed Air Force One in Black Box.

“As if that breadth of multiplayer variety wasn’t enough, fans of Special Ops can hop aboard snowmobiles to infiltrate a diamond mine in ‘Black Ice’ or head to India, where ‘Negotiator’ will leave the fate of hostages in their hands.”

The DLC release coincides with a double XP event that begins on PlayStation 3 today, April 20, and will run until Monday, April 23.

EGM’s TAKE: It’s only taken almost four months, but finally non-Elite PlayStation 3 players can enjoy some Modern Warfare 3 DLC, quite how Activision think this is fair is beyond us. If you don’t have an Elite membership on the PlayStation 3 then you’re really going to get kicked in the teeth by this DLC system. We understand that the paid subscriptions need some exclusivity and Xbox Live gets at least a month, but this doesn’t explain a four month gap. PlayStation 3 players are just getting DLC that Xbox Live Elite subscribers received in January, and they will be getting more in just a few days. Make sure you get your money’s worth out of this DLC, because you won’t be seeing any more for at least a couple of months.

Do you think the system is fair? Will you be downloading the DLC? Let us know in the comments below.
