THE BUZZ: It was revealed at Call of Duty: XP that Modern Warfare 3 will feature over 41,000 lines of dialogue, almost 15,000 more than Call of Duty: Black Ops.
At an event panel titled “The Voices of Call of Duty,” voice actors from the franchise answered questions from fans. Kieth Aram, Talent Director for Activision explained:
“To give everyone a kind of perspective, if you look at an average television show, a half-hour series, that has about 400 lines of dialogue, and a full motion picture is going to have around 1,500 lines of dialogue,” he said. “By the time we add in 80, 90, 100 characters and all the soldiers, I think on Black Ops we were pushing 25, almost 30,000 lines of dialogue. We’re at about 41,000 lines of dialogue in Modern Warfare 3 right now.”
It was also confirmed that William Fichtner, of “The Dark Knight” fame would play “one of the lead characters” in the game.
EGM’s TAKE: The Call of Duty franchise has always been about telling the story from a soldiers perspective with well-written dialogue and it looks like Infinity Ward will be setting the bar even higher with Modern Warfare 3. We can’t wait!
