Previously on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 – PARTY CHAT BLOCKED!
That might not be the case with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, says Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling.
Talking to the MTV Multiplayer blog, Bowling said that while Infinity Ward had previously blocked Party Chat in order to help “encourage teamwork among strangers and cut down on cheating”, the design of the multiplayer in Modern Warfare 3 is going to be different – a change which will allow Party Chat to return.
“A major focus of ‘Modern Warfare 3′ multiplayer is allowing you to have a lot more control over [how you play], looking at those restrictions and doing away with stuff like [Party Chat blocking] that’s super hardcore. It’s about giving options. We will have places where competitive guys go where you might have restrictive voice chat. And then you have an option to maybe play that same mode without the same restrictions if that’s the type of player you are.”
According to Bowling, the only multiplayer mode Party Chat will be banned in in Modern Warfare 3 will be Search & Destroy.
