22Cans boss Peter Molyneux has said that he hopes to have a playable demo of Populous follow-up Godus ready by Christmas.
The developer started a Kickstarter campaign for the new title on November 21 stating that, “GODUS is a delightful reinvention of the god game from 22cans and Peter Molyneux, who created the genre. For PC and Mobile iOS, Android.” Molyneux has now promised to have a playable prototype ready for backers to test by Christmas.
“I hope by Christmas we have a prototype that people can download and say, ‘Actually, you know what, they’re already doing good work,'” he told Joystiq. “And this is what needs to happen with Kickstarter and games. The promises… wouldn’t it be amusing if I was the one to prove this right? These promises have to result in great games.”
The Kickstarter is currently at £191,806 out of the £450,000 it needs with 17 days to go.
