Capcom has confirmed that Monster Hunter: World’s Iceborne expansion will be available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 from September 6th, 2019, with a PC release to follow this winter.
The expansion picks up the story after the events of the main game and sees players exploring a brand-new location called Hoarfrost Reach, which, according to Capcom, is the largest region in the game so far.
While exploring this new region, players will be able to take on the new higher difficulty Master Rank and come face to face with numerous new monsters, including the horned brute wyvern Banbaro and the expansion’s new flagship monster Velkhana, an elder dragon with powerful ice attacks.
There’s also a number of new gameplay features being introduced in Iceborne, including the ability to use the Slinger while the main weapon is drawn, the Flinch Shot which unloads the Slinger’s ammo to stun monsters, and new combos and elements for each of the game’s 14 weapons.
Monster Hunter: World’s Iceborne expansion is available to preorder now in both standard and Digital Deluxe forms. The Digital Deluxe Edition includes the Deluxe Kit, which contains the Silver Knight Layered Armor Set, three gestures, one face paint, one hairstyle, two sticker sets, and one décor set.
Finally, the Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Master Edition and Master Edition Deluxe will be available, which contain both the base game and Iceborne expansion in a single package.
