Monster Hunter

Monster Hunter: World can be a solitary adventure, but the game’s recent launch trailer makes taming the world’s greatest beasts look much more feasible when hunting in a pack.

Upon traveling to the New World, players will face countless forms of dangerous endemic wildlife that will rightfully try to defend their home turf. The ultimate goal of new hunters is to track an elder dragon, so you must stand your ground against any beasts that come between you and your target. This can be done on your own or with up to three friends, as the game’s launch trailer exhibits.

Monster Hunter: World is currently available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with a PC release coming later this year. The game’s launch comes with a day-one update, which adds a handful of features and addresses a number of residual technical issues. The launch is also complemented by Horizon: Zero Dawn DLC, giving hunters on the PS4 a limited chance to pick up some Horizon-themed gear.

Now that the game is out, fans can learn how we here at EGM feel about it in our official Monster Hunter: World review.

Nick didn’t start gaming until mid-2006. Once his parents finally allowed a console into the house, it was all uphill from there. Starting out with a PS2, he grew an affinity for Sony consoles and moved on to the PS3, and now the PS4. He keeps his gaming palette wide, but, gun to his head, he’d have to say shooters are his genre of choice. Find him on Twitter @idole808
