Final Fantasy XIII-2

Square-Enix could reveal some new Final Fantasy XIII-2 content this August, at the 25th anniversary event for the series.

When asked by Famitsu if the team had any Final Fantasy XIII related announcements for the 25th anniversary, FFXIII and XIII-2 director Motomu Toriyama replied, “The [FFXIII-2] Lightning download content had an ending that left a feeling mystery and hope. The day when the meaning of this will come to light is not too far off.”

Now the important question here is, is this new DLC for XIII-2 or an announcement of the rumored Final Fantasy XIII-3? Based on the lack of closure offered by the original XIII-2 ending and the recently released Lightning DLC, I’d guess that a third game in the series is planned to finally wrap up the story.
