Mortal Kombat

This year’s Mortal Kombat 11 will reward players with multiple endings depending on their decisions throughout the game’s story.

In a recent post on Twitter, the gamers behind the KomboBreakerZ podcast offered up an interview in which creative director Ed Boon confirmed that MK11 will take a page out of 2017’s Injustice 2 by supporting multiple story endings.

The different endings will be the result of which path players take in the campaign, but it’s unclear if these “choices” will manifest as the winning/losing of fights, contextual and/or binary options mid-cutscene, or something else. Based on the game’s story trailer, the campaign will deal heavily with time manipulation, which opens it up to limitless branching shenanigans.

Mortal Kombat 11 is slated to launch April 23rd on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and while a Switch release is also planned, it may experience a short delay. Fans should not expect the game to feature cross-play at launch, but according to the developers, it is something being considered for later down the line.
