Reptile’s return in Mortal Kombat 11 has been teased ahead of the character’s official reveal.
In an interview with DualShockers at the game’s recent reveal event, art director Steve Beran discussed the new Towers of Time feature, which supports modifiers that will aid players in their fight up the tower levels. One of the modifiers will be a tag team ability, with which players can call in a fellow Kombatant to use a special move. When asked for examples, Beran referenced Skarlet, who was revealed at the event, but the other support character the director mentioned wasn’t part of the reveal.
“Then there’s certain things like you can activate Reptile’s Acid Ball. It’s very nostalgic. You have these helpers, if you will. It’s a blast and we’re really happy about that,” Beran said.
Based on this, it sounds like a safe bet that Reptile will join the MK11 cast later this spring. Even if he isn’t a fully playable character, we can at least expect him to make an appearance.
Mortal Kombat 11 is slated to launch April 23rd on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and while a Switch release is also planned, it may experience a short delay. The game’s reveal event offered up much more than this character tease, including gameplay for newly revealed fighters like Baraka and Geras, as well as the game’s full intro cinematic.
