THE BUZZ: Warner Bros. has announced Mortal Kombat for the PlayStation Vita.
The game has been, ”designed specifically for on-the-go gaming with brand new gameplay features and content developed exclusively [for Vita],” by NetherRealm Studios. ”The NetherRealm team is committed to making sure that we follow up the success of 2011′s Mortal Kombat with an equally compelling experience on the PlayStation Vita,” said NetherRealm creative director Ed Boon. ”The original game content and new features we developed for the PlayStation Vita will provide gamers with the best fighting game experience available on the new mobile platform.”
The game is set to release Spring 2012.
EGM’s TAKE: A handheld entry made from the ground up is always pleasing for fans to hear, no one wants a cheap quick console port. Hopefully Mortal Kombat can make it’s mark on the Vita and establish a strong dominance for the genre early.
