THE BUZZ: Maximum Family Games issued a press release revealing their plans to publish Myst 3D for the Nintendo 3DS. With a release date of March 27, 2012. Developer Hoplite Research, who is responsible for the Nintendo DS and Sony PSP ports, is promising a 3D facelift of the original six worlds along with RIME Age which was not included of the original game.

EGM’s TAKE: Well, for Hopelite Research it seems like we are either getting Myst or Hooter’s related racing games. And a fully 3D Myst port is at least a good reason to bring this franchise back from the dead. Trust us, looking at Hopelite’s track record, it could be much worse.
